Flickered Heart

My heart was flickering,
For I am never as fine,
And never I did,
Never will be...

I was never the red-nosed monkey,

Or ever the singing lark,
I was never a winged sirens of the sea,
Neither doth I a haunting voices of the past,
I was never a golden nugget or a silvery coin,
Or the sense that you moved to the edge of thy ground,
And never was I the generous harvest of autumn,
Nor the pouring rain as spring came to being,
And never was I the midnight's trick-or-treat's treat,
But a fool moon to the bird of Minerva,

Yet surely I was but a second cup,

For the first one is done,
Paradoxically ironic.
